Q. Could you describe your approach to interior design?
A. Creating an inviting, comfortable environment for my clients to live in is my first objective. I personalize each job based on my client's individual lifestyle and whatever unique requirements they might have.
Q. It sounds as if you see interior design as a collaborative effort between designer and client?
A. Oh yes, absolutely.
Q. Tell us something about your background and experience.

A. After working with a number of leading interior design studios, I opened Laura Kaminsky Interiors in the early 1980's. Since then, my work has included both residential and commercial projects. In addition, I've worked with builders who want a distinctive look to their model homes.

I offer clients a full range of interior design services. This includes space planning, architectural detailing, and providing home furnishings.

Q. What are your professional credentials?
A. I've been a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) for over 15 years and been certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ). My work has appeared in both local and national publications. I've been recognized for the rooms I've created for numerous ASID Showcase Houses and the Michigan Design Center's Idea Home. On several occasions, I've also been asked to contribute my skills to design-related charitable fund raising events.
